Wow! Who would have ever thought that the most innocent and smart girl from high school would end up marrying the school playboy? This little love story starts with an scandalous proposal; the mother of Ethan Doane asks Amelie Lenore to marry her son so he can stop his playboy attitude. As a senior in high school, Amelie doesn't hesitate to deny her impromptu offer, but her mother doesn't give her much of a choice and forces her to marry him. Amelie and Ethan hate each other, none of them want anyone to know about their sudden union, so to save both of their reputations, they agree to keep it a secret. As a married couple living under the same roof, they decide to establish some rules, like: having separate bedrooms, pretend they don't know each other in school, divorce the day of their graduation, and be able to have love relationships with anyone they want. Everything was going well, until Ethan's best friend, Nick, tells him that he likes Amelie because that's when he knows he's also falling for her. While pretending they hate each other, they start falling deeply in love; but for how long will they keep on denying their true feelings until both accept they can't live without each other? On graduation day, they got divorced as they accorded in the day of their wedding. They both loved each other immensely, but they were too proud to admit it, so they both went their own separate ways. Seven years later, they found each other again, and their love bloomed with an intense power that was seven times stronger than before. They got married again and started a beautiful family together. I loved this wonderful book! It was very exiting and intriguing. I couldn't stop reading it because I felt like the main character facing all the situations Amelie was affronting. I fell extremely in love with Ethan Doane and accompanied both of them in their love story. I lived with them all of their fantastic adventures and they will always be in a special place in my heart. I would recommend this book to all the hopeless romantic people who enjoy reading about the heartbreaking process is completely necessary to go trough to reach happiness.
